About the MP3 format
MP3 is the most widely used compressed audio format. Files carry the extension .mp3 and work in virtually every media player, phone and recording application.
Professional dictation recorders from Olympus, Philips and Grundig can save directly to MP3 as an alternative to their proprietary formats. Phones and computer recording software also produce MP3.
MP3 compresses the audio. For clear speech dictated into a quiet room, the quality is more than sufficient for accurate transcription.
If your recorder saves in DS2 or DSS format and you need MP3 instead, the free converter handles that in your browser. If you need the letter typed up, skip the conversion and send the original file directly.
How it works
Record
Dictate into your recorder, phone or computer application. When you are done, you have an MP3 file.
Send
Upload on the send page, or email the file to ds2genie@sogoodmail.co with a brief note on which template to use.
Receive the letter
The AI drafts the document. A person can check it before it returns to you. Most jobs come back the same business day.
What you receive back
- The finished letter on your own letterhead or Word template
- A full verbatim transcript
- A summary with key names, dates and action points
- Action points listed separately
Other formats we open
We accept more than MP3. If your recorder saves in a different format, it is likely covered.
