About the Olympus DS-7000
The Olympus DS-7000 is a professional digital dictation recorder from an earlier generation of the Olympus DS professional range. It was used by law firms, medical practices, insurance adjusters and other professionals who needed a networked or Wi-Fi-capable recorder before the DS-9000 series was introduced.
The DS-7000 saves dictation in DS2 format, the Olympus proprietary codec. Files have the .ds2 extension. DS2 requires a licensed decoder to open, which is why most transcription services cannot accept DS2 files at upload.
